What ApoB adds to LDL
LDL estimates cholesterol content. ApoB counts the particles that carry it.
LDL cholesterol estimates how much cholesterol is carried in certain particles. ApoB counts those particles more directly, because each carries one ApoB molecule.
The two usually move together. They can disagree when triglycerides are high, which is common in Indian adults with central weight gain.
A doctor should read ApoB alongside the rest of your picture.
